Diagnosis of ENT diseases on CT
Diagnostics is the best way to begin comprehensive treatment.
CT scan – provides the dentist with a complete picture of the condition of the tooth or teeth (dentition), specifies the location of the disease, the degree of the disease, and the volume of bone tissue. But that is not all!
On CT, the dentist can identify other concomitant pathologies associated with ENT organs that directly affect dental treatment.
More often, a dentist can diagnose the following pathologies of the maxillary sinuses:
– acute odontogenic sinusitis;
– foreign bodies of the sinuses (filling material, pins, teeth);
– mycetoma of the maxillary sinus;
– cysts of the maxillary sinuses;
– polypous rhinosinusitis.
As well as impaired nasal breathing: deviated nasal septum, chronic rhinitis, adenoid vegetations.
We adhere to an integrated approach to treatment, which is why the dentist can send a CT scan of the patient to an ENT doctor to confirm or refute ENT pathologies. Based on the results of the CT scan, the patient is sent for an additional consultation with an ENT doctor to determine a further treatment plan.
