• Abnormalities of the frenulum of the tongue or lip. A shortened frenulum disrupts diction, the process of eating, and can cause deviations in the position of the teeth.
• Preparation for orthodontic treatment. Sometimes, tooth extraction or frenulum plastic surgery is required for the correct installation of the braces system.
• Absence of one or more teeth. Implantation is recommended as the most functional and long-lasting way to restore chewing load.

Contraindications to surgical intervention:

• Acute infectious diseases. Treatment is postponed until complete recovery.
• Mental disorders. In the presence of diagnoses that make it impossible to cooperate with the patient during the intervention.
• Uncompensated diabetes mellitus. Increases the risk of infections and impaired healing.
• Chronic heart, kidney, or liver failure in the decompensation stage.
• Severe osteoporosis. Especially if the patient is taking bisphosphonates.
• Alcohol or drug addiction.
• Pregnancy. Most interventions are postponed until the postpartum period.
• Smoking more than 20 cigarettes per day. Complicates healing after implantation and interventions in the area of bone grafting.

Postoperative care
