Tooth root resection

Removal of dental cysts

Tooth cyst is a tumor in the mouth, a granuloma, filled with fluid. There are several types of cysts, the most common being radicular. Cysts can also form at the site of a removed tooth (residual) and a tooth that has not erupted (follicular).

The key method of treating dental cysts is surgery. Our doctors perform such removals with the preservation of the tooth (if possible). Before the procedure, the patient must undergo a comprehensive diagnosis, where the most important is a 3D image (CT). Only after an accurate examination the doctor can perform the operation. It is moderately traumatic, the amount of work depends on the size and location of the granuloma, after the procedure the doctor may prescribe meds that will promote healing.

Note that if you ignore the cyst for a long time, its size can increase so much that it deforms the jaw. In addition, the chances of saving a tooth, or even a few teeth, become impossible.
