The essence of photobleaching (teeth whitening with a lamp) is that a special gel is applied to the teeth; it is activated by the light of the lamp for teeth whitening. At the same time gums are insulated, therefore this procedure is absolutely safe. The duration of the procedure is individual. The number of cycles is determined by the doctor depending on the initial color of your teeth and their individual condition. Of course, the patient’s wishes about the final color after the procedure are taken into account, but this should not conflict with your individual health indicators. For example, sensitive teeth should be bleached very carefully, because after the whitening procedure the sensitivity may increase for some time, so the doctor takes this factor into account.

Whitening Beyond Polus Advanced

One of the most recommended types of photobleaching in the Astra Dent network is bleaching with the help of the certified American program “Beyond Polus Advanced”. The main advantage of Beyond teeth whitening is that the light from the LED lamp practically does not heat the enamel, and therefore does not harm it. The radiation from the source goes through a special filter that neutralizes the negative effects of ultraviolet and infrared radiation. The temperature of the enamel surface during the procedure does not exceed 37.6ºC. The gums are carefully insulated and not exposed to the gel. Thanks to the safety of the procedure it has become one of the most popular in the world.

How long does the bleaching effect last?

The whitening effect of Beyond Polus Advanced can last up to 2 years. The duration of the result depends on the patient’s adherence to a “white diet” (restriction in use of products that can stain teeth) for some time after the procedure, as well as on the characteristics of the patient’s enamel.

How does Beyond whitening work and how long does it last?

The gel is activated by the lamp. The duration of whitening cycles is determined by your doctor depending on the initial color of your teeth and their individual condition. There can be from 1 to 3 cycles, 15-20 minutes each. There are short breaks for a few minutes between the cycles.
